DynastyPvP launches today: proper old-school Factions
There’s a particular kind of Minecraft experience we’ve been working to bring back. Building a base with your mates. Arguing over whether the walls are good enough. Finding out, usually at the worst possible time, that they weren’t.
Today, 2 October 2026, DynastyPvP launches its next Factions season, bringing that old-school competitive experience to players under The InfiniteGaming Group.
Factions without the shortcuts
Dynasty is built around a straightforward idea: building, defending and raiding should be the game, not the things you find ways to skip.
That means no /f fly and no chunk busters. Your faction needs to put the work into its base, think about its defences and organise itself when it’s time to take on someone else. Proper base building and cannoning are central to what we’re making.
For those who remember spending far too much of 2016 on Factions servers, the appeal probably doesn’t need much explaining. A base became a shared project. Rivalries gave you a reason to log back in. Even an evening where everything went wrong could become something your group talked about for years.
That’s the experience we want Dynasty to offer. We can build the server and give you somewhere to play, but the friendships, questionable alliances and spectacularly bad decisions are yours to make.
What we’ve been working on
Since our earlier testing, we’ve been working through the systems that need to hold up once factions are competing.
Factions now runs on StellarSpigot’s 1.8 foundation. We’ve made changes to the economy and McMMO balance, worked through KoTH fixes and tightened up duel handling. Those changes aren’t necessarily the things that make a flashy launch trailer, but they matter when you’re spending your evening on the server.
There are also F-Top prizes to compete for this season: $250 via PayPal for first place, $150 in store credit for second and $100 in store credit for third.
Bring a faction that wants to compete, and make sure everyone has read the rules before getting started.
Beyond the Factions map
Factions is the focus of today’s launch, but it isn’t the only thing we’ve been building.
Rankup combines KitPvP with Call of Duty-style Team Deathmatch, while Speed UHC adds another competitive mode to the network.
Both are launching in beta. They’re early versions we want people to play, test and give honest feedback on—not something we’re presenting as finished and forgetting about. Getting them into players’ hands is an important part of deciding what needs attention next.
Come and be part of it
Dynasty is a personal project as much as it is an InfiniteGaming Group one. It exists because we missed this kind of Factions and wanted somewhere to play it again.
To everyone who has tested, reported problems, shared the server or stayed around while we’ve been working on it: thank you. Getting to launch takes a lot of work that isn’t especially visible, and having people interested enough to keep checking in makes a difference.
Now we get to see what you do with it.
